Why convert WAV to MP3
A WAV holds every sample, which makes it large: about 10 MB a minute for CD quality. An MP3 stores a compressed version, usually a fifth to a tenth of the size.
That makes MP3 the practical choice for sharing, email and players with limited space. Choose a higher bitrate when quality matters more than size.
